Overview
This is seaweed soup. Now, if you know me, you’ll know that seaweed and that general flavor is something that is a very acquired taste. At least, I think it is.
So here it is! Seaweed soup – in its most basic and raw form! Sorry for the vertical photo. I usually try not to do that but – hey happens sometimes right?

DESCRIPTION & PHOTOS
Seaweed Soup
So – I’m not a big fan of seaweed. When it comes to sushi I usually make an exception because its not usually the centerpiece, but with this lil’ sucker its smack dab center stage. Its literally, boiled seaweed.
It does have salt added so its OK. It tastes like you’re drinking the ocean, and apparently is a very common Korean dish. This comes free along with the kimchi and pickled garlic that I wrote about in the linked article. I think its just more of an acquired taste or if you grew up with this type of flavor you would probably think its very soothing.
It has a very nice salty flavor in the broth and the seaweed was very pleasantly tender. To the point at which I had no clue seaweed could be so silky.
Verdict:
Not my favorite thing in the world – but its very healthy. So i’ll most likely eat this much more going forward. Still sitting in at a 5 out of 10 for now.
